Snowshoe Opening Day 2026 Is Set for Nov. 25, With the New Shavers Center Due This Winter
Snowshoe Mountain plans to start the 2026–27 ski season Wednesday, Nov. 25, weather permitting. The new Shavers Center is expected this winter, and the Flurry of Savings sale runs Oct. 1–10.
SNOWSHOE, W.Va. — When does Snowshoe open? Snowshoe Mountain says it plans to kick off the 2026–27 ski and snowboard season on Wednesday, Nov. 25, weather permitting.
That target comes from the resort's own “100 Days to Winter!” post on the Snowshoe Blog, written by Kirsten Thieman and posted Aug. 17, 2026, the day the resort marked 100 days until winter. The Liftline Times checked the post again on Sept. 27 and found the date unchanged. The weather caveat is Snowshoe's, and on Cheat Mountain it is not a formality. The calendar proposes; the cold decides.
Shavers Center: Snowshoe's New Skier Services Building Is Wrapping Up
The bigger change waiting on the mountain this season is a building. In the same post, Snowshoe says “work is wrapping up on the new Shavers Center, a modern take on the original facility that served the mountain for nearly 50 years.”
Once complete, the resort says, the new facility “will bring key skier services together in the heart of the mountain while carrying forward the legacy of a place that holds a lot of memories for Snowshoe guests and employees.” The post closes the section with this: “We're looking forward to welcoming guests into the new space this winter.”
That is as specific as the official record gets. Snowshoe has not published a separate opening day for the Shavers Center, and this desk is not assigning one. “This winter” is the resort's phrase. It is not the same promise as Nov. 25.
The building has been on the calendar before. WDTV reported in August 2025 that the new lodge was then expected to open in mid-December 2025, and quoted Snowshoe President and COO Patti Duncan: “Our new Shavers Center is going to be a huge positive for the guest experience here on the mountain.” A holiday post on the Snowshoe Blog, last updated in December 2025, called it “our new skier services day lodge” and promised “more details coming soon.”
For regulars, the name carries weight. In the same WDTV report, Duncan said “so many of our guests and employees have stories and fond memories from that place.” Nearly half a century of boot-room stories is a lot to hand off to a new roof.
Snowshoe Flurry of Savings Runs Oct. 1–10
Before the lifts turn, the sale window opens. Snowshoe's post says “our annual Flurry of Savings returns October 1-10 with some of the best deals of the season.”
The 2026 post does not itemize the discounts. For reference, last winter's official Snowshoe winter event schedule described the 2025 edition, which ran Oct. 1–9, as 20% off lodging, 20% off standard rentals and 20% off adult and child group lessons, “plus the best lift ticket prices with lodging.” Treat that as last year's menu until Snowshoe posts this year's terms.
Season pass shoppers have their own clock. “If a Local or Ikon Pass is part of your winter plan, don't sleep on it. Prices jump in October,” the resort's post says. It does not name a day.
On lift tickets, the same post lists the Flex 3 Pass at $199, marked with an asterisk, good for “any three non-holiday days during the 2026/27 winter season,” with no need to choose the days ahead of time. Snowshoe Ski Season 2026: The Clock
Summer is not quite finished. The Snowshoe Bike Park “will keep rolling through closing weekend, October 10-11,” according to the same post. That puts the last bike laps on the final two days of the Flurry sale.

- Oct. 1–10: Flurry of Savings
- Oct. 10–11: Bike Park closing weekend
- Wednesday, Nov. 25: target start of ski and snowboard season, weather permitting
- This winter, no set date: new Shavers Center opens to guests
