Where to Stay at Snowshoe Mountain

Snowshoe is one of the few Mid-Atlantic resorts built around a true slope-side village, so where you stay shapes the whole trip. Most visitors sleep in the village at the top of the mountain — condos, townhomes, and lodges clustered around the lifts, with restaurants and the Ballhooter and Powder Monkey lifts a short walk away. Beyond the village, cabins and mountain homes spread across Silver Creek and the surrounding Pocahontas County highlands for groups that want more space and a quieter base.

Ownership here is a patchwork. Many units are owned by individuals; others are handled by local property managers who look after a handful of homes each. That means inventory, cleaning fees, minimum-night rules, and rates vary from unit to unit — and the best price is almost always the one you get by booking straight with whoever holds the keys.

Where in the area to base yourself

The village (Snowshoe Basin). Ski-in / ski-out convenience, restaurants, and the shortest walk to the lifts. Best for first-timers, families who want everything in one place, and anyone skiing multiple days without a car shuttle.

Silver Creek. A separate, quieter ski area a few minutes down the road with its own lifts, night skiing, and a more local feel. Condos here tend to be roomier and calmer in the evenings.

The surrounding highlands. Cabins and mountain homes across Pocahontas County suit larger groups and longer stays that want space over slope-side steps. Plan on driving to the lifts and check road and parking notes with your owner or manager before a storm.
