Ticket Window: Epic’s Deadline Is Tuesday, Ikon’s Is Thursday. Wintergreen, Wisp and Massanutten Follow

Snowshoe skiers buying Ikon have until Oct. 8. Epic moves two days earlier, and Wintergreen, Wisp and Massanutten follow by Halloween.

The 2026-27 ski pass deadlines are stacking up fast, and the one Snowshoe skiers care about most lands Thursday. On Snowshoe’s pass page at ikonpass.com, the Ikon Pass, Ikon Base and Ikon Session each carry the same warning: “Price increases after October 8.” Epic’s window closes two days sooner. Treat Tuesday, Oct. 6 as the last safe day at the posted prices. Mid-Atlantic independents follow on Oct. 12 and Oct. 31, 2026.

Here is every date, in order, with prices as posted on official pages Monday, Oct. 5.

Epic Pass: Oct. 6

As of Monday morning, epicpass.com is not showing the “Pass Prices Go Up October 7” banner that ran earlier this month. Adult prices are still $1,145 for the Epic Pass, $849 for the Epic Local Pass and $471 for a 4-day Epic Day Pass. Because Epic has not posted a clear last-day rule for those prices, treat Tuesday, Oct. 6 as the last safe day to buy at the figures above. An Oct. 2 promo on the site named October 7 as the go-up date; buyers who wait past Tuesday are gambling that the old window still holds.

For Mid-Atlantic skiers, Epic’s resort list includes six Pennsylvania mountains within a day’s drive: Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Laurel Mountain, Liberty Mountain, Roundtop Mountain and Whitetail Resort. Epic has not posted what the new prices will be.

Ikon Pass and Snowshoe: Oct. 8

Alterra, which runs Ikon, calls Oct. 8 the “last chance to save.” Adult prices on the Snowshoe page start at $1,449 for the Ikon Pass, $1,019 for Ikon Base and $319 for Ikon Session.

Snowshoe’s own passes are murkier. The Snowshoe Unlimited Pass starts at $619 for adults and the Midweek & Creek Pass at $379, but neither listing shows an increase date. Snowshoe’s blog says only that if a Local or Ikon Pass is part of your plan, “Prices jump in October.” The resort has not published the new price or the exact day, so buyers who wait are guessing. Our Snowshoe resort page has the pass lineup at a glance.

Wintergreen and Wisp Mission Affordable: Oct. 12

Pacific Group Resorts’ Mission Affordable pass moves from Tier 3 to Tier 4 on Oct. 13, according to both the Wintergreen and Wisp season pass pages. That is the biggest jump on this list:

  • Adult: $659 now, $789 from Oct. 13
  • Junior and Senior: $569 now, $599
  • College and Military: $299 now, $399

A Wintergreen pass includes unlimited skiing at Wisp in Maryland with no blackout dates, and the Wisp pass includes Wintergreen.

Massanutten: Oct. 31

Massanutten has the longest runway. Its Tier 3 pricing runs through Oct. 31. On Nov. 1 the adult Full Season Pass goes from $650 to $700, and the Special Value Pass, which is good only after 4 PM on Saturdays and has holiday blackout dates, goes from $520 to $560.

The debate: lock in now, or keep your options open?

The case for buying now is simple arithmetic. A Wintergreen or Wisp adult saves $130 by acting before Oct. 13.

The case for caution is in the fine print. Wintergreen and Wisp passes “may not be sold, transferred, refunded, or extended for any reason,” and Wintergreen says it “does not guarantee number of operating days.” A Mid-Atlantic winter can be generous or stingy, and an early pass is a bet on the weather.

Massanutten takes the other side of that bet. It offers a full refund, no questions asked, if you request it by Jan. 15, 2027 and have not picked up your pass. That makes its Oct. 31 deadline the lowest-risk call on this list.

Which approach is right depends on how many days you will really ski. Before you buy, run your plans through the MTNinfo pass calculator to see whether a pass beats day tickets, and check which pass covers which mountains on our ski pass map. Every deadline here is also on the MTNinfo calendar.
