Wintergreen Resort

Wintergreen sits on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge in Nelson County — a mountain-top layout where lifts, lodging, and dining cluster on the ridges rather than a traditional valley base. Twenty-six trails span 129 skiable acres with a 1,003-foot drop, heavy snowmaking, and more than half the mountain open under the lights.

Drive times from Charlottesville (~45 minutes), Lynchburg (~1 hour), Richmond (~2 hours), and Washington D.C. (~3 hours) make Wintergreen the closest full-scale hill for many Virginia households. Beyond skiing, Wintergreen is a four-season property with condos, hotels, golf, spa services, and The Plunge tubing park. Many of the ridge-top condos are individually owned and rented through their owners or local property managers, so inventory and rates vary from unit to unit. MTNinfo does not book stays. On the mountain

Wintergreen skews beginner and intermediate — well-groomed cruisers and learning terrain for families, with a handful of advanced runs when conditions cooperate. Blue Ridge Express and Highlands Express are the main six-pack lifts; Big Acorn and Logger’s Alley cover the rest of the pod.
