Hatley Pointe is the old Wolf Ridge, Madison County, Mars Hill. The Hatleys bought it, rebuilt the base, and run it as a limited-capacity boutique: tickets, lessons, and rentals are online reservation only. Do not show up hoping for a window ticket.
The alpine sheet is 54 acres, about 21 trails, 700 feet of vertical, summit 4,700 under Big Bald. One quad, two surface lifts, a rope tow, 100% snowmaking. Many runs are lit. Official winter hours post a December 5 day schedule, then 9 a.m.–9 p.m. from December 13 through March 8.
Après is the other product: Smoke & Timber, Bru Haus, the lodge. NC Gold Card covers this hill with the other five North Carolina areas. Indy is two days. Winterplace is the I-77 alternative if you want lights without a reservation culture.

The Wolf Ridge rebuild. Elevation (4,700-foot summit), limited capacity, reservation-only tickets, and a lodge that is trying to be a destination, not a cafeteria. Night skiing is part of the winter hours after mid-December.
